Today went really good. I had fun despite the long day and very windy weather. As I review the pics to select some of my favs to post here, it makes me laugh to think of all the adults and their reactions. They are either screaming more than the kids or are laughing more so. And I love the adults that close their eyes…like its gonna make it better to not see the end of the slope as you’re shooting down it! Overall, I think the little ones were awesome today! Nonetheless, here are some of my choice pics:

The above little girl looked scared to death all the way down, and then she begged mom to go down again and again. She wasn’t as fearful the next time I saw her!

I captured two or three pics of this boy. In every single photo, he has the exact same expression (even on the little kids slope). I will say this about him, I never heard him scream like a little girl (which is more than what I can say for some adult men).

It was a shorter day as far as the number of sessions, but still lots of people came and tubed the slopes. In fact, one of today’s sessions was the busiest yet (I think the 2pm but it may have been the 4pm session). The weather was awesome again, but the lighting was surprisingly challenging for the first session and half the second. There were no clouds or anything that could possibly pose as unexpected difficulties, but I had to constantly change my camera settings between the slides. And even then, the photos were difficult to capture. I’m not sure what the problem was, but I’m looking into it and will have it corrected by next weekend, if possible!
As far as parents are concerned, if I didn’t get a picture of you or your child (children), it is not personal! I do my absolute best to cover all four slopes as much as possible. Nonetheless, here’s a few of my favs from today. This blog won’t let me post more than these 4 pics, so you’ll have to settle for these from today.

It was a good day for tubing. The weather was great and we sold lots of photos at the event. I had minimal trouble with lighting…it’s always the 4:00 pm session that’s difficult because of going from direct sun to shade to using a flash within a 1.5 hour timeframe. Here’s a few of my favorite pics from today.

Tonight was tubing at the Brick again. Only had to work 2 sessions tonight (about 4 hours). But with that said, I got there about 5:00pm to set-up, and the temp was already below freezing. It didn’t get any warmer by the end of the last session at 9:30. I just got my voice back yesterday, and already my throat is getting sore and hoarse again. It was a fun night though. It definitely makes for good shots when the people are more animated with funny faces, screaming, smiling, etc. Here’s some of my favs from tonight’s sessions:

Today went a little smoother with the tubing sessions. I have adapted to the lighting changes (clouds, sunset, etc) a bit more. Now, its just remembering to change the white balance settings between the two slides and lighting changes while constantly taking pics. I did get an hilarious pic that I can’t post here out of courtesy to the lady. A female tuber hit a bump and her pants dropped below her butt. At the time I snapped the pic, she had just landed back on her tube but you could see a bit more from behind than what’s appropriate. Nonetheless, here’s a few of my favs from today’s session.

Today was the first official day of tubing at the Brick this year. I had a great time watching and meeting everyone. I was correct in that the lighting constantly changed. The 4:00 session was the most difficult! I started with no flash and had to change the camera settings about five times before attaching a flash half way through the session. Then I had to change the settings another three times until it was dark. Today, I shot five - 1.5 hour sessions and got some hilarious shots. Here’s a few of my favs from that day:

Wow…it’s been almost a year since I’ve updated or added anything to this blog. It’s been an interesting year. I’ll try to keep up with it this time. New stuff going on…
We’ve officially filed the 501 paperwork for OpLove, so hopefully we’ll get that approved soon. Also, I had a news interview earlier this year with Ernie Paulson and News Channel 4. I posted it on Youtube. I posted a link to it on my blogroll (menu on the left) for viewing. After the story ran, I was flooded with military families. It was awesome meeting everyone and being able to provide them photos for their deployment.
I’ve landed a huge contract with Downtown OKC. Their “Downtown in December” events include the world’s largest man-made snow tube. It is built in the Bricktown BallPark. They have hired me to photograph the tubers and sell prints/products both on-location and online. It starts Friday, Nov 28th and will run until Sunday, Jan 4th. Over the last several years, they average approximately 500,000 visitors. I’m pretty psyched (and a bit overwhelmed).
I’ve recently updated and revised my website. I’m not 100% happy with it, but I’ll keep on it until I’m satisfied. If you run into any kinks, let me know!
Well I need to get back to work. I’ll post some tubing pics and updates soon.

Sorry…I completely forgot about this blog! I figured after the rush of summer weddings, reunions, and portraits that business would even out a little, but I’m still as busy as ever. I’ve had numerous OpLove sessions lately, and still have more to come. I am soooooo glad that word is finally getting out and spreading in Oklahoma. Tomorrow, I’m travelling to Ft. Sill for two homecoming sessions. I absolutely love the homecoming sessions and all the emotions that are present. I’ll try to get my website pics for OpLove updated soon. I’ve had several sessions since I last updated it, so I’d like to add some more pics. Anyway, I gotta get ready. I have a full day ahead of me. I’ll try to post again soon. :[)
